
It is difficult to preach ‘self-acceptance’ when many of us are going through our lives not even knowing truly who we are and what we truly represent. So how can we find contentment and happiness with ourselves when we are practically struggling daily to find ourselves?
Firstly, we will have to start giving up the thoughts and things that we were taught we need in order to be happy. Then we begin to look deep within ourselves and unearth the talents, thoughts and true inner qualities that make us authentically who we truly are. By doing this regularly and through constant practice we will slowly begin to find our true self.
Self-acceptance is when we accept and become truly happy with the person we are. Many of us use lack of self-acceptance to motivate us into achieving our goals and dreams. Some of us lose ourselves by trying to copy the acts of our favourite celebrity or role model. While others may think it is probably the only way to gain love and acceptance. However the more we supress and disguise aspects of our true self, is the more we falsify our life and existence.
We all want to be happy and live a fulfilled life, so what better way to do that than to embrace our true self, create our world and relationships to suit our true nature. Be friends with people who accept us for who we truly are.
The more we begin to accept ourselves is the more we will become confident and emotionally charged. Life begins to open up to people who are happy being who they truly are, and feelings of doubt and fear will slowly fade away.
So seek to unearth and embrace the true you, and soon you will begin to live life to the fullest!
