Since billionaires Bill Gates and Warren Buffet launched The Giving Pledge to implore wealthy celebrities to pledge majority of their wealth to charities, Jackie Chan has come out with the most daring pledge to charity.
Chan has recently expressed his intent to leave his entire fortune to charity when he exits this earth and will leave nothing for his only son, Jaycee.
The Rush Hour star has already decided to give away half his money to charity when he dies and speaking at an awards ceremony last week he said that he was not planning on leaving his son Jaycee any of the millions of dollars he has made during his film career.
‘If he is capable, he can make his own money. If he is not, then he will just be wasting my money,’ Channel NewsAsia quote Chan as saying.
Chan also revealed that he wished he had signed Jaycee up to join the army when he was younger to ‘temper his character’.
Chan has recently teamed up with celebs in and around Hong Kong to organize a charity concert to aid victims of the Japan earthquake and tsunami.
