Kyle Maynard a 25 year old quadruple is about to be the first quadruple amputee in history to climb mount killamanjaro, the highest peak in Africa.
Maynard, who was born with a medical condition called congenital amputation which caused his arms to stops at his elbows and feet to stop at his knees, will make his attempt in January 2012.
Kyle will be joined by a team of individual warriors that include former U.S. military members with various kinds of physical and mental injuries, a former Ugandan soldier and former athletes.The combined team of climbers will form the Mission Killamanjaro.
Mission Killamanjaro intent is to inspire people who though are miles apart and separated by ocean they are connected by that drive to confront adversity, overcoming any physical and mental limitations and making what seemed impossible possible by not setting mental barriers.
The team will start in Tanzania and engage children through sports and play.
