2. Usain Bolt
To some, Usain Bolt is considered the man who came to "save the sport of Athletics". His amazing accomplishments came at a time when the sport was dogged with doping allegations, and fans worldwide was losing interest. With his dominance and entertaining antics (at times) before and after competing, Usain has everyone's attention.
3. Damian Marley
Damian "Jr. Gong" Marley has managed to make the oft reserved "Son of Bob Marley" label become an after thought when it comes to him, by creating his own unique and stand-out style and personality. A style and personality that has attracted legendary rapper Nas, and legendary rocker Mick Jagger to do collaborative albums with him.
4. Clovis Brown
Clovis Brown could be considered the man who legitimatized Jamaican cartoon both on local and global standpoints. Clovis who is the resident cartoonist for The Jamaica Observer, has drawn some of the most interesting, thought provoking and hilarious cartoons ever by a Jamaican. Daily people are anxious to see what is on Clovis' mind.
5. Bob Marley
Bob Marley? Number 5, in 2011?
Yes... Bob Marley will forever be in the heart and minds of people and reggae lovers for many years to come. To this day Bob's music outsells many reggae artists, and he is talked about, tweeted about and blogged about more than many current top musicians in Reggae, Rock, Pop, R&B.... you name it. As Bob Marley rightfully said, "My music will go on forever. Maybe it's a fool say that, but when me know facts me can say facts. My music will go on forever."
6. Mavado
Affectionately called the "Gully Gad", Mavado's following and fanbase is not far from being equal to Vybz Kartel's. Currently, Mavado is on the threshold of even increasing his reach after signing to DJ Khaled's We The Best Music Group.
7. Audrey Hinchcliffe
Audrey Hinchcliffe is one of Jamaica's most accomplished business woman. She is currently the principal of a number of companies. Just recently Hillary Clinton, the United States Secretary of State invited Hinchcliffe to sit on the US Department of State's new International Council on Women's Business Leadership (ICWBL) for a two-year term.
8. Veronica Campbell-Brown
Veronica Campbell-Brown is on the verge of becoming Jamaica's most dominant female athlete of all-time after winning numerous World Championships, Olympic titles and defending her titles. Veronica has recently launched out into Philanthropy with her own charity organization that focuses on helping female youth worldwide through mentoring and scholarships.
9. Glen Mills
Since Usain Bolt ran to legendary athletic coach Glen Mills to correct his running style and turn him into the dominant sprinter he is today, Mills has become one of the most sought after athletic coach today. Glen Mills is also the coach of the young emerging sprinter Yohan Blake who ran the fastest 200m ever by someone in his age group.
10. KD Knight
KD Knight a retired politician of the Jamaica's People's National Party (PNP) was slowly disappearing from the political landscape, but shot back to fame in mid 2011 after a Mannatt/Dudus inquiry. Knight who was the lawyer representing the opposition party (PNP) became famous for his bold, almost provocative and menacing questioning techniques during the inquiry. After the inquiry KD Knight's techniques and words triggered many popular songs and slang.
